Week of December 5-9

READING LOGS ARE DUE FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9TH, FOR A GRADE MAJOR

Language Arts

This week, we will begin our Persuasive unit of study in both reading and writing.  Our students will work in groups to collaborate their ideas in creating a persuasive paper together before branching on their own to develop their own paper.  We will also read different persuasive books to display what the book is trying to persuade to the reader.  The students will be creating posters over the book they read and presenting them.  At the end of the week, we will introduce Multimedia & Persuasion through commercials.  The students will work with a partner to produce their own billboard in class.  This will be a major grade so please encourage your child to be creative and put forth their best effort.

Our weekly homework will be distributed on Monday and due on Friday.  Please make sure your child is reading each evening and recording their books on their reading log.  Reading log due Friday, December 9th.
