Language Arts
This week, we will continue with our Persuasive unit and the students will be composing a letter to Santa persuading him to hire them. The students will begin with their graphic organizer, then create a rough draft, and finish with a final copy. The students will continue and complete their reading group novel, so when we return we will begin a new book. The students will receive their new Reading Log when we return as well.
Homework
The students will have a short homework assignment this week due to the holidays; therefore, the assignment will be due on Wednesday, December 14th.
Please make sure your child reads over the break. Many students have made growth in their levels and I highly encourage them to continue to reading daily. We hope everyone has a blessed holiday and enjoy time with family and friends!! We will miss you all and can't wait to see you in 2017!!
Social Studies
This week, we will continue studying the Bill of Rights. Students will be completing various activities on this subject. We will also be having our checkpoint test on Tuesday, December 13th. Students were given a study guide last Tuesday, December 6th. Please make sure your child is studying for this important test.
We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday break. We look forward to seeing our LC 7 students come back in January refreshed and ready to learn!
