Language Arts
This week, we will discuss and complete activities covering Story Elements. The students will have a quiz on Wednesday, September 7th over the Story Plot vocabulary from Friday, September 2nd. The students will also begin their Personal Narrative in class. Throughout the week, we will be reviewing grammar skills which will increase our writing structure. We will also begin our district required assessments.
Homework
Our language arts homework right now will be for our students to read every evening at least 20 to 30 minutes. Reading is a key to learning, and we want our students to really spend time doing this every evening.
Social Studies
This week, we will continue working on learning the 50 states and capitals. We will also finish our unit on economics. We will be covering banking, trade agreements, importing and exporting, jobs, and equal opportunity. Students will have a test on this unit on Thursday, September 8. Students were given a study guide for the test last Thursday, September 1st. Social Studies homework this week will be to study for the test.
