Reading
This
is a short week, so on Monday we will begin our Drama unit of study.
The students will be discussing the Elements of Drama. They will read
in their Reading groups a play then relate the Elements of Drama
vocabulary to each part of the play read in their groups. The students
will then complete a Plot Pyramid using the play. Wednesday will be our
scheduled library day, so please remind your child to return their
books.
Just
a friendly reminder, Reading Logs will be due Friday, May 4th. Please
make sure your child is reading every evening and recording their books
on their sheets.

Social Studies
This week, we will begin a new unit over South Asia. The topics we will be discussing are
South Asia's physical geography, the Himalayas, monsoons, resources and land use, conservation, and South Asia's water crisis. Students will be answering monitoring questions with each section we discuss. Students will also continue to work on their group project over Asia. They will finish and present on Thursday.
Homework: On Tuesday, each student will receive a new vocabulary word for the South Asia unit in which they will illustrate and turn in on Thursday.
Writing/Grammar
This week in grammar, we will be learning about the subject of a command or request and how to find a subject in sentences beginning with there or here.
