Language Arts
This week, we will continue with our cross curriculum Science support unit. We will be reading about The Science of Hot-Air Balloons and completing several activities on Monday and Wednesday. Friday, April 21st is Field Day in the afternoon. Our morning time will be divided a little different, so our students will spend time reading for their Reading Log. If your child has taken home their "purple" reading book, please have him/her bring it to school.
Homework will be given on Monday and due on Wednesday. Please make sure your child continues to read each evening and records their completed books on their reading logs. Reading Logs will be due on Friday, May 19th along with their project (each for a major grade).
Social Studies
This week there will be a Science Release STAAR test on Tuesday. This was supposed to be given last Thursday but was postponed to this week. We finished Ch. 10 last Thursday. Our test over Ch. 10 will be given on Thursday, April 20th. Students were given a study guide for this test on Tuesday, April 11th. Next week, we will begin Ch. 11 over Economic Growth and Immigration. For homework, students need to be studying for their test on Thursday.
