Language Arts
This week, we will begin our cross curriculum Science support unit. We will be reading about Extreme Weather and completing several activities on Monday and Wednesday. Friday will be a Social Studies day due to having a Science Benchmark test on Thursday. If your child has taken home their "purple" reading book, please have him/her bring it to school. We will be using them for majority of the rest of the school year.
Homework
Homework will be given on Monday and due on Wednesday. Please make sure your child continues to read each evening and records their completed books on their reading logs. Reading Logs will be due on Friday, May 19th along with their project (each for a major grade).
Social Studies
This week, we will be learning more about the expansion of the United States. Students will understand how territorial and economic growth caused change in politics and the society. They will also learn about how resources provided opportunities for the people in the West and what the Monroe Doctrine was.
Homework
Students will be given geography homework on Tuesday. Homework will be do on Friday instead of Thursday. We will be having a Science benchmark on Thursday.
