Language Arts
Due to the holiday, we will have a short week in Language Arts. On Wednesday, we will continue with our Expository Writing and Literary Nonfiction unit of studies. On Friday, we will have a Reading Common Assessment. There is not a way to study, so there will not be a study guide. The test will be over taught skills and objectives. This test will give us data to use to be able to see exactly where our students need to continue to work on before the District Reading Benchmark and Reading STAAR test. Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest the evening before and has a good breakfast the morning of the test. On Friday, we will analysis and discuss questions and results from the test.
Homework
Due to the short week, the students homework for this week is to complete one of their projects for the Reading Log. Please have your child continue to read each evening and record their books on their Reading Log.
Social Studies
This Tuesday, January 17th, the students will be taking a test over Ch. 7. Study guides were given to the students last Tuesday, January 10th. Please make sure your child has been studying for this test.
On Thursday, we will begin the Industrial Revolution. We will be discussing inventors and manufacturers from the late eighteenth through mid-nineteenth centuries. We will learn that new inventions and forms so transportation had costs and benefits.
Students will be given homework on Tuesday and will be due on Thursday.
